New Split Screen Feature in LEGO Fortnite: Not Available for All Players

LEGO Fortnite is set to introduce a new split-screen feature to enhance the multiplayer gaming experience, but there’s an important limitation to note.

Since the launch of Chapter 5, Season 1, Fortnite’s charming LEGO mode has allowed players to enjoy cooperative gameplay with friends, but it has lacked a crucial element: split-screen capabilities. According to announcements made during the PlayStation State of Play event, this will soon change as the feature is scheduled to be integrated into the game.

However, there’s a significant caveat. An official post by the LEGO Fortnite account on X revealed that the split-screen mode will only be accessible on PlayStation and Xbox. Unfortunately, this means that players on Nintendo Switch, mobile devices, and other gaming platforms will not have access to this feature.

Epic Games has not yet confirmed the specific release date for the split-screen functionality or the update it will appear in. Nonetheless, it is expected to arrive in October 2024, coinciding with the anticipated start of the Fortnitemares event.

Even though the split-screen feature is not available across all platforms, its introduction is still a positive development for LEGO Fortnite. This new mode will significantly improve the gameplay experience by allowing players to easily monitor each other’s actions, which is essential in a game focused on survival and crafting.

Since its initial release, LEGO Fortnite has evolved immensely. In Chapter 5, Season 4, players were thrilled to see the adorable Klombo dinosaur return, along with the introduction of new weapons, vehicles, and more exciting content.

As LEGO Fortnite continues to develop, it will be intriguing to discover what additional features are planned for future updates.

Besides the split-screen mode, the PlayStation State of Play event showcased a limited-edition DualSense Controller adorned with popular Fortnite characters. This special controller features designs of Peely and Fishticks, among other elements inspired by the game. Those interested in purchasing this controller can start pre-ordering it from October 3, 2024.
