New Valorant Feature Leak: Blocking Function in High Demand

A recent leak has revealed that after years of players’ requests, Valorant will finally be getting a blocking feature. The leaked code also provides insight into what this feature will do.

Despite their competitive nature, games can often become heated, particularly when teamwork is crucial for success. In these instances, players may unintentionally harm their teammates by flashing them, blocking them off, or using abilities that result in their death. Unfortunately, this can contribute to a toxic environment, a recurring issue in other games developed by Riot, such as League of Legends.

Finally, after a long wait, the developers are taking action to address these issues by implementing a block feature. Leaked code suggests that this feature will enable players to avoid communication and cut ties with others, ultimately decreasing the likelihood of arguments or other toxic behavior.

According to Valorant Leaks & News, a Twitter account dedicated to sharing updates and news about the game, Riot has finally announced that they will be implementing a long-awaited blocking feature. This feature has been highly requested by players since the game’s release four years ago, and it seems that Riot has finally listened to their community’s feedback.

The code specifies that blocking a user will prevent them from sending you friend requests or party invites, as well as muting them in voice channels. However, it is possible that you may still encounter them in your games, in which case they will be automatically muted.

Similar to your friend’s list, you will have the ability to view your block list and unblock any users if desired. Additionally, the description specifies that unblocking a user will not result in them receiving a notification.

Despite the promising nature of this leak, there has not yet been an official announcement from Riot, meaning that a confirmed release date for the content on live servers is still pending.
