The upcoming competitive map for Valorant will be revealed during VCT Masters Shanghai.
At present, the competitive Valorant map pool consists of 10 maps that are rotated with the release of each new Episode.
Clove was introduced as the new Controller Agent in Valorant Episode 8 Act 2, with Act 1 featuring the addition of the Outlaw weapon. The only element that was absent was a new map, but it has been announced that it will be unveiled at VCT Masters Shanghai.
The confirmation for the new map reveal at Valorant Masters Shanghai was given in the “Episode 8 Act 3″video, which can be found at the link https://youtu.be/EiVF6QsAijo?si=3R_QqOe6_bCLYo3t&t=89. As per previous reveals by Riot, the new map will most likely be shown during the Showmatch on June 9, 2024. A small note at the end of the video also mentions this reveal.
However, the video does not provide any information about the map’s specifics. As a result, any assumptions about the setting, theme, or layout are purely speculation.
The most recent addition to Valorant’s map pool was Sunset, which was introduced in August 2023. Similar to most maps, Sunset features two spike plant sites, with the exceptions of Haven and Lotus. This map has become a popular choice among professional teams during Stage 1 of the VCT Leagues.
Despite the new map reveal still being a few days away, the recent release of patch 8.08 has initiated Episode 8 Act 3 and included substantial nerfs to Viper and Cypher.
