New York Comic Con Announces World Premiere of MAPPA’s Zenshu Anime, Featuring Fairy Tail Creator Hiro Mashima and More Events

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, notable announcements regarding New York Comic Con emerged, featuring details about MAPPA’s upcoming Zenshu anime and insights from Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima, among other highlights. The New York Comic Con is scheduled to take place from Thursday, October 17, to Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.

In addition to revelations about Zenshu and Fairy Tail, updates regarding the Overlord anime series and the anime film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim were also included. TurtleMe, the creator of the popular webtoon The Beginning After the End, will be present at the convention, which promises a series of exciting events throughout New York Comic Con 2024.

Key Anime Highlights at New York Comic Con 2024: Zenshu, Fairy Tail Creator, and More

The trailer premiere for MAPPA Studios’ original Zenshu anime series will highlight the industry panel at New York Comic Con. This anticipated panel is scheduled for Friday, October 18, 2024, at 6:30 PM EDT. It has been confirmed that Crunchyroll will stream the Zenshu anime series once it begins airing in Japan. As of now, there is no official release date or window announced for the series.

The Overlord anime franchise will be represented by director Naoyuki Ito and Madhouse producer Kentaro Hashimoto at a dedicated panel discussing the upcoming film. A new trailer for Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom was released on Thursday, which is set to premiere in Japan on September 20, with regular screenings and IMAX showings starting on September 13. North American audiences can see the film beginning November 8, 2024.

Crunchyroll will also showcase Hiro Mashima during a special panel titled “Spotlight on Hiro Mashima: Creator of Fairy Tail,”scheduled for Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:30 AM EDT. In this session, Mashima will discuss the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime, which launched in the Summer 2024 season and will continue into Fall 2024.

Additionally, TurtleMe’s panel will take place on Saturday, October 19, at 10:45 AM EDT, hosted by Crunchyroll in partnership with Tapas and Yen Press. Further details regarding this panel are yet to be revealed.

Moreover, Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed its participation with a panel for The War of the Rohirrim anime film. The panel will be moderated by Stephen Colbert, known for his late-night show and as a The Lord of the Rings aficionado.
