NewJeans Arrives in Hong Kong Amid Legal Controversies
On March 22, the popular K-pop group NewJeans, comprised of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, discreetly departed for Hong Kong via Incheon International Airport. They opted for an alternative exit to avoid the press but were still photographed by media personnel, who captured them waving at cameras while partially concealing their faces with masks and hats. In a heartwarming message through their NJZ account, they expressed, “Thank you, Bunnies. We’ll be back safely.”

Upon their arrival in Hong Kong on March 23, the group reassured fans with another update: “Bunnies~ We arrived safely in Hong Kong. Let’s have fun together tomorrow! Thanks to you, even tough times become happy memories. We love you all. Fighting!”
The quintet is set to perform on March 23 at ComplexCon, a renowned global street fashion and culture festival taking place at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.

This trip follows a significant legal decision from the Seoul Central District Court, which granted an injunction requested by their agency, ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE.The ruling affirmed ADOR’s management rights and temporarily restricted the members from engaging in any advertisement contracts elsewhere.

In response to the court’s ruling, ADOR stated, “We are grateful for the court’s wise judgment and will continue to support NewJeans as their official agency.”
However, the members have voiced their dissatisfaction through the NJZ account, asserting, “We respect the court’s decision, but it does not fully consider the complete breakdown of trust between us and ADOR.” The group plans to appeal the decision and present further evidence during the main contract termination trial, which is expected to take place on April 3.
This legal conflict originated in November when NewJeans revealed their inability to continue under ADOR due to the agency’s unaddressed contract violations. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit on December 3 to affirm the legality of their exclusive contract.
Despite these challenges, NewJeans remains committed to their group activities and actively engages with their fans, keeping the connection alive amidst these turbulent times.
