NewJeans’ Bunnies Take a Stand with Unique Truck Protest — ‘We Urge HYBE to Respect Their Label!’

Bunnies Production made a unique public statement by sending four trucks with electronic billboards to HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The purpose of this demonstration was to express their dissatisfaction with the entertainment conglomerate.

The exhibit that started this morning showcases a succession of bold statements in support of the K-pop band NewJeans and denouncing HYBE’s management methods.

The billboards feature various messages, including “Bunnies show their support for NewJeans and ADOR / HYBE by calling for an end to illegal activities,””Promising to protect artists in words / But pushing them to their limits in actions,”and “HYBE’s breach of duty through illegal disclosure of personal information / Counterproductive anti-viral actions.”

The demonstration is one aspect of a larger movement protesting the purported wrongdoing of HYBE, a dominant presence in the music scene of South Korea.

“We support NewJeans, Min Hee-jin, and all ADOR members. We urge HYBE to respect their label and cease malicious media play and defamation against NewJeans and ADOR.”

The protest has rapidly caught the interest of online users, as evidenced by a related article on the Pannate portal gaining almost 3,000 views by early afternoon.

The comments section has been filled with a variety of opinions from netizens.

HERE ARE A FEW OF THE OPINIONS SHARED BY INTERNET USERS:

“It seems like the trucks had an effect since HYBE reported it. Next time, send a condolence wreath.”

“To really get to HYBE, you should send a condolence wreath or a coffin.”

“Illegal parking and nonsense. ARMYs, SM fans, and Bunnies have all protested in front of HYBE’s headquarters with trucks, but this is the first time I’ve seen something like this. This is like saying they’re abandoning both the artists and the fans.”

“It would be funny to see someone carrying a coffin in front of HYBE.”

“I saw a comment on mobile saying the trucks were chased away, lol.”

“Aren’t you going to give a thumbs up for the comment you left on mobile??? It’s something your favorite person likes, right?”

The protest’s essence highlights the persistent conflicts between the fans and NewJeans’ management, along with wider worries about the ethical standards of media practices in the K-pop sector.
