NewJeans Excluded from HYBE’s Q4 Strategy After Min Hee-jin’s Departure?

On October 14, Kim Kyu-yeon, an analyst at Mirae Asset Securities, published an in-depth corporate review of HYBE, which included an outline of the artist activities planned for the final quarter of the year.

The newly released timetable indicates that BTS, represented by the sub-label Big Hit Music, is preparing to unveil Jin’s solo album and celebrate j-hope’s return from military service during the fourth quarter. Additionally, TXT will drop a mini-album in November and perform six concert shows.

Today (October 14), SEVENTEEN, which operates under Pledis Entertainment, launched a new mini-album. Moreover, they will also be focusing on Jeonghan’s military enlistment and 21 concerts as part of their world tour. In an interesting twist, fromis_9 has not scheduled any album releases or concerts for the fourth quarter.

In addition to these updates, ENHYPEN, part of Belift Lab, is set to release a repackaged album and hold a series of six concerts. ILLIT is gearing up to debut their second mini-album on October 21, while BOYNEXTDOOR from KOZ Entertainment has added two concerts to their lineup. Conversely, &TEAM currently has no planned activities for the upcoming quarter.

Notably, NewJeans, who earlier aimed for an album release in the latter half of the year, does not appear to have any engagements included in the fourth quarter agenda.

In March, NewJeans had shared their ambitions regarding their upcoming activities, saying, “We are dedicating our efforts to delivering top-notch performances to our fans with a new album we are preparing for the second half of the year, alongside plans for a world tour in 2025.”

However, since April, tensions have risen between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR. Following her dismissal in August, Kim Joo-young took over as the new CEO. In September, Min Hee-jin disclosed, “I was removed from my position while orchestrating a surprise fan meeting for our Korean supporters,” and further noted, “Production for the next album has also been put on hold,” raising concerns about NewJeans’ upcoming activities.

NewJeans last engaged with fans during a meeting at the Tokyo Dome in July and is currently taking a hiatus. The lack of scheduled events for them in HYBE’s fourth quarter plan has left fans speculating about their immediate future and how recent executive changes might influence their planned comebacks.
