The Bunnies fan base of NewJeans has voiced their opposition to the potential dismissal of ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, citing fears about the group’s future direction and stability in the K-pop industry.
On May 23rd, Bunnies made a recent announcement stating their plan to submit a petition in order to challenge the dismissal of Min Hee-jin and ensure the continuation of NewJeans’ operations.
Bunnies expressed deep concern in their petition to HYBE, the parent company of ADOR, regarding the ongoing tension between HYBE and Min Hee-jin.
The speakers stressed the crucial moment that NewJeans is currently facing, with the potential for substantial expansion, and brought attention to the concern caused by the ongoing disagreement between NewJeans members and their devoted fanbase.
A spokesperson for Bunnies stated, “At this critical juncture where NewJeans is poised for significant growth, a dispute between the parent company HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin has surfaced, causing great anxiety for both NewJeans and their fans.”
The petition further elucidated, “We are well aware of the significant investment HYBE has made in NewJeans, and we believe that Min Hee-jin, who has shown immense affection and responsibility towards NewJeans, has faithfully fulfilled her duties as a CEO by growing NewJeans and generating stable revenue for ADOR.”
The members of NewJeans expressed the same sentiments, echoing the desire for consistent and stable leadership.
“We understand that until there is a final legal conclusion regarding any alleged illegal actions by Min Hee-jin, the contractual terms between the parties should be respected, and Min Hee-jin’s position should be maintained. This is also the wish of NewJeans members, which aligns with our intention to support NewJeans.”
The petition stressed the importance of acknowledging Min Hee-jin’s significant contributions to the success of NewJeans and expressed the hope to maintain the strong relationship between her and the group in order to ensure their ongoing development and success.
In support of Bunnies, other ADOR employees and individuals affiliated with Min Hee-jin have similarly expressed their disagreement with her termination through the submission of petitions.
The situation is expected to intensify as HYBE has scheduled an extraordinary general meeting on May 31st to replace Min Hee-jin and the management of ADOR. However, Min Hee-jin has taken legal measures by filing an injunction to prevent the exercise of voting rights. The court is expected to make a decision on the injunction before the planned meeting takes place.
