The single “How Sweet”included two new songs, “How Sweet”and “Bubble Gum,”along with their instrumental versions.
The release received considerable attention from the industry, especially given the ongoing management dispute between ADOR’s CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE.
The initial projections were positive, with “How Sweet”selling over 810,000 copies on its first day, indicating the possibility of reaching one million in sales.
Despite strong initial sales, the following days saw a significant decrease, resulting in only 70,000 additional copies sold during the rest of the first week. This brought the total number of copies sold as of June 3 to 891,179.

Experts theorized that the decrease in sales could potentially indicate a temporary setback in the K-pop album market’s progress.
During NewJeans’ hiatus without releasing new albums, other groups also saw decreased sales in comparison to their previous works, unable to reach new peaks in their careers.
This decline in sales has been noticeable since the end of last year and has continued into the beginning months of this year.
According to industry analysts, this decrease is due to fans becoming tired from years of fierce competition within the industry.
The extended conflict in management could potentially be a contributing factor to the decrease in sales for NewJeans, as there are concerns about how it may affect the group’s fan base and unity.
A key figure in the industry stressed the importance of closely monitoring the overall sales patterns during the current transitional period in the album market.
Despite facing a sales setback, NewJeans remains a prominent player in the digital music industry.
