On September 3rd, NewJeans made their debut appearance after Min Hee-jin was ousted as CEO of Ador. The group attended the ‘2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week’ at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
Despite the internal conflicts plaguing their organization, the NewJeans members were observed working diligently, exchanging hand hearts and hand waves. They cycled between cheerful grins and neutral faces.
On August 27th, a board meeting was held by Ador, during which they made the decision to appoint Kim Ju-young as the new CEO, replacing Min Hee-jin. Ador also declared that Min Hee-jin would remain in charge of producing NewJeans. However, Min Hee-jin disputed this choice, claiming it was made without her agreement and accusing Ador and HYBE of manipulating the media.
Despite the controversy, fans continued to show their support and concern for the members of NewJeans. On September 2nd, the members took to the fan communication platform, Phoning, to express their confusion and feelings about Min Hee-jin’s removal.
Minji voiced her disappointment, stating, “It saddens me that we have limited time to discuss positive things, and it is frustrating to have to deal with unnecessary issues. As I write this, the problem remains unsolved and I am unsure of how much longer we will have to endure these unsettling days. It may be self-centered of me to say, but I truly hope that we can move past these difficult times with our Bunnies.”
Ever since the CEO was removed, Daniel has been struggling with confusion and difficulty. He felt lost for a period of time, but wants to assure everyone that the Bunnies are always appreciated and on their minds.
Moreover, Hani uploaded a video of her own performing a song she wrote herself. She stated, “My intention was to ease the heartache for the fans, the other members, and the CEO. This melody suddenly came to me and I felt compelled to share it.”
