NewJeans Members Provide Insightful Reviews on Hanni’s National Assembly Testimony

On October 18th, Minji and Hanni engaged with fans via a live streaming session on the paid platform Phoning.

During the interaction, Minji shared, “I managed to catch just the initial segment of Hanni’s address at the National Assembly due to prior commitments. Once I finished my schedule, I searched for it online and found an overwhelming number of photos showing her in tears.”

Hanni, with a playful tone, responded, “Who captured those images? Let’s chat for a bit,” showcasing a look of relief.

The previous day, October 17th, Danielle expressed her feelings after witnessing Hanni’s testimony at the hearing. She reminisced about the moment Hanni returned to their dorm in tears, saying, “I rushed to comfort her. I reassured her numerous times about her efforts. She’s such a wonderful sister. I watched the entire thing unfold, and I was nervous myself.”

She added, “I’m incredibly thankful to the Bunnies (the fanbase of NewJeans) who attended the hearing to support her. I believe their presence gave Hanni extra strength. I hope many people were able to see and appreciate her emotions.”

On October 15th, Hanni testified at the Environment and Labor Committee hearing of the National Assembly, discussing her experiences with workplace bullying.

Reflecting on a comment made by a manager from a HYBE-affiliated label, suggesting to “ignore her” , Hanni stated, “This isn’t just about that one incident. From the very beginning of our debut, I’ve greeted senior figures, yet not once have they acknowledged me. In Korea, I was taught to show respect to elders, and when they failed to return my greetings, I felt it was a genuine lack of respect towards me as a person. Only those who have faced similar experiences can truly grasp this.”

Following the hearing, Hanni conveyed her gratitude to her fanbase, saying, “Thank you all so much. Bunnies, you put in so much effort. I’m extremely thankful, and I don’t want to cry either, but the tears keep coming. I am just so, so grateful.”
