NewJeans’ Parents Refuse to Meet HYBE over Insincere Response

A recent report from Korean media outlet DongA states that the ongoing conflict between ADOR and HYBE is not solely due to the actions of Min Hee-jin. In a previous statement, Min Hee-jin mentioned that the root of the issue is HYBE and Belift Lab copying NewJeans in their latest girl group, ILLIT.

Specifically, DongA stated that when the NewJeans – ILLIT plagiarism controversy emerged in March, the parents of NewJeans members initially brought up the matter to ADOR, the agency of NewJeans, and subsequently began discussions with HYBE.

As a result, ADOR sent a letter on the 3rd of this month to HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and CEO Park, detailing the issue and asking for it to be addressed.

According to reports, HYBE asked ADOR to arrange a meeting with the parents of NewJeans members in response. However, it has been stated that the parents did not believe HYBE’s response was genuine and declined the request.

After this process, HYBE is said to have taken the lead in initiating an audit against ADOR on April 22.
