The recent airport outfits from NewJeans have sparked a variety of responses, as online users discuss whether it is appropriate to use uniforms or not.
On June 20, NewJeans were spotted at Gimpo International Airport, preparing to fly out to Japan for their highly anticipated Japanese debut. Their debut is set for June 21, where they will showcase two singles, “Supernatural”and “Right Now.”Additionally, they have planned a fan meeting called “Bunnies Camp 2024″at the Tokyo Dome on June 26 and 27.
The girl group looked stunning in school uniforms for their airport outfits. Each member had unique variations in their appearance. Haerin and Danielle wore maroon ties, while Hanni, Minji, and Hyein’s ties were blue. Hanni, Danielle, and Minji’s skirts were a darker hue of blue, while Hyein and Haerin’s skirts had a more muted tone.
The blouses varied in sleeve length among the group, as Haerin and Minji sported long sleeves while Hanni and Hyein had shorter ones. Danielle layered a cardigan over her blouse, while Minji chose to tie hers around her waist.
Despite the girls’ individual styles, one thing remains consistent among them – the use of black shoes. While Haerin, Hannie, Danielle, and Hyein all chose to pair their shoes with white long socks, Minji stood out by opting for black socks instead.
Several netizens praised their distinct airport ensembles, declaring them as their top outfit choice thus far.

Despite this, there were some who disagreed. In the world of K-pop, there have been instances where groups have incorporated school uniform ensembles into their performances in a more provocative manner, causing many to view the use of school uniforms as inappropriate. Despite NewJeans’s more conservative take on school uniforms, some still couldn’t help but feel that the outfits were targeted towards a specific audience.

Despite their youthful, Y2K aesthetic, NewJeans has always incorporated school uniforms into their concept. However, some female K-pop idols have recently been seen wearing modified versions of school uniforms, such as crop tops made from blouses or shortened skirts. As a result, the perception of school uniforms has shifted.
Despite the accusations, many came to NewJeans’s defense. They argued that school uniforms are not inherently sexual, and the ones they are wearing are no different from the ones worn by middle and high school students in South Korea. It is believed that those who automatically associate school uniforms with sexuality should seek immediate help.
if when you see school uniforms and yoir mind correlates it with something sexual then you’re the sick freak cause there ia nothing sexual about school uniforms https://t.co/GCDB205FSZ

Students in South Korea wear uniforms even when they go to funerals. For teenagers in that country, school uniforms are both their everyday clothes and their most formal attire. And NewJeans is literally a group with an average age of teenagers. 🤷♀️ https://t.co/RdvTWmm0jq
