NewJeans’ Japanese debut single “Supernatural”topped the album chart according to Hanteo Chart. On its release day, June 21st, the single sold an impressive 685,753 copies.
Topping the Korean album chart as a Japanese single is a rare occurrence. This impressive feat was accomplished only a month after the release of their million-selling album, “How Sweet”.
The hit single with the same title also gained significant popularity in Japan, reaching the top of real-time charts on major music platforms such as Line Music’s “Top 100″and AWA’s rising chart.
Shortly after its release, “Supernatural”has been performing strongly on Korean music platforms. Within just an hour, it reached the 34th spot on Melon’s “Top 100″chart and by midnight on June 22nd, it had climbed to 13th place.
Despite being a b-side track, “Right Now”by NewJeans also achieved success on the charts, further proving the band’s unique charm and appeal to listeners. Once again, their music has managed to resonate with people regardless of language.
Global success is anticipated as well. The album “Supernatural”achieved the top spot on the iTunes “Top Albums”chart in seven countries/regions, including Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Additionally, it claimed the 3rd spot on the “Worldwide iTunes Albums”chart.
The music video is generating a lot of buzz and is currently in 4th place on YouTube’s list of “Most Viewed Videos in 24 Hours.”
Additionally, NewJeans is scheduled to make an appearance on Nippon TV’s “with MUSIC”program on June 22nd.
