During a live broadcast on September 11th, NewJeans addressed the turmoil within their agency ADOR, which is currently facing significant internal conflicts.
Danielle stated, “I don’t think we’ll be able to achieve the things we’ve been doing with CEO Min and the dreams we’ve planned for the future. We were just pursuing our dreams, so what did we do wrong? A week after the CEO was dismissed, we could no longer work with the director who had supported us, leaving us worried about our future with the dedicated staff. If it’s truly for our benefit, please don’t just claim to prioritize artists; allow us to rely on and enjoy working with our favorite music.”
Haerin expressed, “We don’t understand why external forces are continually interrupting us. We cannot comprehend what they are doing to support us and foster the growth of NewJeans, as they promised.”
She added, “It’s unfortunate for our fans who find comfort in us and for us who find joy through them. There was a moment when we nearly lost the connection with our supporters, the Bunnies, and we do not want to lose anything else.”
The group also mentioned, “We do not want to conform or align ourselves with the agendas of those in charge. We refuse to choose that path, as it is not aligned with our vision.”
Hyein remarked, “The practices at HYBE are dishonest and unethical. We ask that you no longer disturb our progress. Please reinstate our CEO and return ADOR to its previous structure, rather than this unfamiliar environment. We are not demanding improvements; we simply want both parties to execute their roles effectively.”
Danielle further wished, “We hope you can stop the mistreatment of CEO Min from a human perspective. It seems that HYBE lacks humanity. What can we learn from such a company?”
Minji stressed, “What we seek is the original ADOR, led by Min Hee-jin, which includes both management and production. This is crucial to prevent our disputes with HYBE. If our concerns are understood, Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and HYBE should wisely decide to restore ADOR to its former state by the deadline.”
On August 27th, ADOR dismissed former CEO Min Hee-jin, appointing Kim Joo-young as the new chief executive. Although ADOR announced that Min would still oversee NewJeans as an in-house director, Min contested her dismissal, claiming it was unilaterally decided without proper notification, and that the terms of the business contract for her role in NewJeans’ production were unreasonable.
Moreover, with the new leadership, ADOR requested the removal of collaboration videos featuring NewJeans and Dolphiners Films. In response, CEO Shin indicated it would be impossible to continue working with ADOR under the new management conditions and demanded an official apology from the agency. He warned that failure to receive an apology by the deadline would result in legal actions for defamation and additional charges.
