NewJeans Win Turns into a Controversy — Find Out Why Lesserafim Eunchae Fans Are Furious

The K-pop community was abuzz on May 31 as KBS’s Music Bank sparked a heated discussion. Despite being nominated alongside aespa, NewJeans emerged as the winner, clinching first place with their hit track “How Sweet.”

Despite the group’s celebration, there were allegations of disrespect towards LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae, who serves as an MC for the show, which put a damper on the event.

Eunchae was observed glancing over at NewJeans during the acceptance speech, possibly to see if they had finished speaking after a long period of silence.

As Danielle from NewJeans began to speak, she was interrupted by ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, who was thanked by Danielle. The camera then returned to Eunchae, causing some to interpret it as a deliberate snub.

The controversy has triggered a discussion, as fans express their thoughts on social media. Some are convinced that NewJeans deliberately showed disrespect towards Eunchae, considering the ongoing legal conflicts between ADOR and HYBE, which involve Min Hee Jin’s alleged targeting of LE SSERAFIM.

On the other hand, a considerable number of fans are standing up for NewJeans and claiming that the interruption was unintentional. They refer to the recent episode of Music Bank, where Eunchae and NewJeans had a playful exchange, to prove that there is no animosity between them. Some supporters are even denouncing the criticism as a “witch hunt.”

Despite the ongoing disputes between ADOR and HYBE, it is evident that their artists are bearing the brunt of the conflict. The intense public scrutiny and fan battles are placing immense pressure on groups such as NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM, making it increasingly difficult for them to make public appearances without attracting controversy.

The situation has caused a division within the K-pop community. A fan expressed, “It’s evident that NewJeans did not mean any disrespect. This is being exaggerated.”Another fan pointed out, “Given the ongoing tension between ADOR and HYBE, this seemed intentionally directed. NewJeans should have exercised caution.”

The ongoing dispute regarding whether NewJeans showed disrespect towards Eunchae or if the level of anger is exaggerated remains a heated topic of discussion.
