On May 19th, Danielle connected with her fans on the fan communication platform Phoning. She opened up about her recent struggles with sleep, stating, “To be honest, I have been having trouble sleeping lately. That’s why I have been trying various methods to help me sleep, such as listening to music and taking a hot shower. I even asked my fellow members to stay with me at night. Luckily, I had a good night’s sleep yesterday.”
Continuing on, she remarked, “There is a reason for everything that happens. Although it may be difficult now, it will eventually pass. It will be like waking up from a nightmare or waiting out a stormy day. You won’t even remember how it all started.”She then suggested, “I believe you just need to persevere in order to overcome it.”
Upon receiving Daniele’s messages, fans were also quick to express their admiration for her mature mindset and sent her words of support, wishing her good health and happiness.
On the 8th, Danielle caused concern among her fans when she admitted during a phone call, “I want to thank everyone for their concern and support. These days, I have been feeling quite burdened, but I am working hard to deliver great performances for all of you. Please don’t worry, and stay tuned for what’s to come.”
Danielle’s group, Newjeans, will be releasing their double single “How Sweet”in Korea on May 24th. Additionally, the group will be making their debut in Japan with the single “Supernatural”on June 21st.
Despite being in the midst of a legal dispute, NewJeans continues to rise in popularity. All tickets for their fanmeeting event, “Bunnies Camp 2024,”at Tokyo Dome in Japan on May 26th and 27th have been completely sold out. This marks the girl group’s first time performing at Tokyo Dome, achieving this milestone only one year and 11 months after their debut and setting a new record as the fastest foreign artist to do so.
Concurrently, HYBE proceeded with legal action against ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin, accusing her of violating her obligations by attempting to gain control of the label’s management rights. Subsequently, Min held an impromptu press conference to deny all accusations.
Leading up to the shareholders’ meeting on May 31st, where the decision to remove Min Hee-jin from the CEO position will be made, Min Hee-jin took legal action by filing a provisional injunction to prevent HYBE from exercising their voting rights. Additionally, the parents of NewJeans members have enlisted the help of Kang Jin-seok, a lawyer who specializes in entertainment disputes, and have submitted a petition to the court. The petition reportedly expresses their support for CEO Min and their hopes to continue working with her in the future.
