NewJeans’s Minji Reassures Fans Amid HYBE & ADOR Dispute, “We’re Bunnies With Guts And Guns”

On May 18th, Minji used the fan platform Phoning to connect and interact with her fans.

While interacting with fans, Minji unexpectedly stated that NewJeans are actually stronger than what Bunnies (NewJeans’s fandom) may believe and be concerned about. This was her attempt to reassure fans amidst the recent issue involving HYBE.

She reiterated, “I already mentioned to you all that we are fearless and determined rabbits, right?”She then clarified, “I hope you realize I was just kidding about the guns. It’s more of a metaphor for ‘shooting’ love.”This was her way of showing her appreciation for her fans.

Just before their return to the Korean music scene, Minji’s band NewJeans is embroiled in a legal battle between HYBE and CEO Min Hee-jin over the control of their label ADOR.

On May 17th, the Civil Agreement Division 50 of the Seoul Central District Court conducted an interrogation regarding the provisional injunction filed by Min Hee-jin to prohibit HYBE from exercising its voting rights. Additionally, HYBE accused CEO Min of attempting to sway the support of their global investors, outside directors, shareholders, and partners.

On June 21st, in addition to their comeback in Korea, NewJeans will also be releasing their debut single in Japan titled “Supernatural.”
