NHL 25 Franchise Mode: Is GM Connected Feature Available?

A long-awaited reunion with GM Connected remains at the top of NHL fans’ wish lists, but that anticipation continues in NHL 25.

GM Connected was first introduced in NHL 13, allowing players to take control of a team and compete against up to 29 other human-controlled managers. This game mode made appearances in NHL 14, NHL 15, and NHL Legacy for PS3/Xbox 360, but has not returned since.

Ironically, other EA franchises incorporate a Franchise Mode with online capabilities. Online Franchise has been a key feature in the Madden series for years, enabling friends to compete against each other while managing their favorite teams.

Furthermore, College Football 25’s online Dynasty allows players to rebuild college programs and aim to be the first to secure a National Championship. This absence leaves hockey fans feeling overlooked, a sentiment that will persist in NHL 25.

Will Online Franchise be in NHL 25?

EA Sports community manager Aljo confirmed that NHL 25 will not feature Connected GM. “While Connected Franchise is not coming to NHL 25, we understand how important this is to the community, and we have dedicated resources investigating what is possible for the future,” Aljo stated.

Without a concrete roadmap, it remains uncertain how long fans will have to wait to see this game mode return. EA has announced plans to reveal more about Franchise Mode in an upcoming blog post.

Additionally, EA has shared new gameplay features for NHL 25, which include skill-based one-timers, goalie enhancements, an updated hitting system, and adjustments to the sustained pressure system.
