Niantic Offering Huge Compensation For Pokemon Go Fest Errors

Pokemon Go Fest Global is widely considered to be the largest event of the year, making it unsurprising that a few glitches may occur in such a massive event. Unfortunately, this year was no exception as players experienced problems with Ultra Beast Raids on the opening day.

Despite the promised opportunity for fans to encounter the powerful Ultra Beasts with a special Ultra Wormhole background during Pokemon Go Fest Global on Saturday, July 13, many were disappointed when Niantic later revealed that the background was not available due to an error, following complaints from fans.

After a mistake was made by Niantic, they have issued an apology and are providing compensation to Pokemon Go players who used Remote Raid Passes to encounter Ultra Beasts. In their apology, they acknowledged that a “technical error”on their end prevented players from obtaining Special Backgrounds through remote raids.

Upon acknowledging the error, they assured that affected Trainers would receive Timed Research in the future which will grant them encounters with Ultra Beasts and Necrozma, along with guaranteed Special Backgrounds, as compensation.

According to the company, the amount of research players receive during the first day of Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Global is tied to the number of Remote Raids they participated in during the event.

Finally, further information indicates that the research will provide a number of encounters equivalent to the Special Backgrounds that could have been obtained during the event and will remain valid until December 31, 2025.

The fans have widely praised Niantic for compensating for the errors in the comments. Many have even referred to it as a “W”for the company, and one comment mentioned, “This is a huge achievement if you manage to get the numbers right.”

Despite having some questions, players may need to wait until the reward is made available before receiving all the answers. For instance, one player inquired, “I completed approximately 80 raids for Necrozma and 30 for Xurkitree. Will I receive that number of encounters?”

The specifics of how this recompense will be distributed are still unknown, however, it appears that Niantic is providing opportunities to encounter the Pokemon Go Fest Global Ultra Beasts – along with the possibility of obtaining the Ultra Wormhole backdrop – for individuals who utilized Remote Raid Passes in their attempts to obtain them.
