Renowned streamer NICKMERCS has made headlines by announcing his departure from FaZe Clan, marking the end of a significant five-year journey with the organization. This surprising announcement took place on January 10, 2025, catching many fans and followers off guard.
NICKMERCS, who initially joined FaZe Clan in 2019 after leaving 100 Thieves, revealed on his social media platform X that he has been out of the loop due to holiday travels followed by a recent illness. Despite these setbacks, he expressed his eagerness to return to streaming on January 13, albeit under his own brand rather than as a member of FaZe Clan.

In his announcement, NICKMERCS clarified that his exit from FaZe Clan is not rooted in any discord but rather stems from a desire for change. He stated, “I wanna let y’all know that we are no longer with FaZe Clan. No issues with them whatsoever; it’s just that time to move forward.” He extended his best wishes to FaZe’s leadership, including personalities like Banks, Tommy, Rug, and Apex, expressing gratitude for the experiences they shared during his tenure.
Back streaming Tuesday! Apologies on being MIA for so long. Had a couple of trips for the holidays then got rocked this past week. Sickest I’ve ever been in a while. Almost back to 100% tho! 🙌🏼Couple things I wanted to loop y’all in on, as we kick off the new year:First of… pic.twitter.com/94qM4qrTXS

This development comes nearly a year after FaZe Clan underwent a significant restructuring, during which several popular members, including Kalei, Rain, and Blaze, departed from the organization. Interestingly, the reboot seems to have yielded positive results, as the revamped crew led by Banks reported collectively earning around $12 million following a viral subathon that concluded on September 30, 2024.
At this stage, NICKMERCS has not indicated whether he plans to affiliate with another organization or venture out independently. However, fans will soon need to adapt to seeing him stream without the familiar FaZe branding. “I’m as motivated and hungry to grind as I’ve ever been, man. This break was nice and all, but it’s time to lock back in and have a killer 2025!” he declared, signaling his readiness to embrace new opportunities while engaging his fan base.
As the landscape of streaming and eSports continues to evolve, followers will undoubtedly keep a close eye on NICKMERCS’ next moves. His decision to part ways with FaZe Clan could open new doors for both him and his community, setting the stage for exciting developments in 2025.
