NICKMERCS Reveals Comeback to Professional Apex Legends with New ALGS Team

NICKMERCS has officially announced his return to professional Apex Legends as he has secured a new ALGS squad for the upcoming 2025 season.

Back on February 20, teammates of NICKMERCS from the Tripod team, Deeds and Gent, revealed that they were parting ways after NICK fell “out of love”with the game following their failure to qualify for the first two ALGS NA splits in 2024.

“We have locked in our Apex squad,” NICK said during a September 16 stream. “I told you that we were waiting on LCQ, we did that, we waited patiently, we watched LCQ… Fun tournament to watch, man, really got me itching to get back in there.”

NICKMERCS’ new teammates include Anthony “DeToX” George and Jvonn “Avexys” Williams. Both players previously competed together in the NA LCQ under the free-agent team FURY, but they will now team up with NICKMERCS for the upcoming season.

While the squad currently lacks a formal team name, they are planning an official announcement in the near future.

“These are two players that we have played a lot against; every one of our lobbies would be me, Gent, and Deeds, and they’re always around,”NICK said, reflecting on how his previous team would deliberately avoid fights against them due to their skill level.

“I’ve known Avexys for a long time, and I’m just getting to know DeToX, but they’re good dudes… We’ve always wanted to play together for a long time, so I’m thrilled about this opportunity to really get after it,” he added.

As the ALGS season has come to a close for teams not qualifying for Champs, NICKMERCS and his new squad will participate in Tier 2 events and aim to secure a spot in next year’s NA Pro League.
