Nicole Kidman’s New Netflix Whodunnit: This Weekend’s Must-Watch TV Show

If you’re searching for your next addictive Netflix show, you’re in good fortune because a new mystery series featuring Nicole Kidman will be released this week.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 5 because The Perfect Couple is coming to Netflix. This highly anticipated TV series has all the elements of a show that you won’t be able to stop watching.

The film is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s popular 2018 novel with a central plot focused on a suspenseful mystery.

The central focus of the story is Amelia Sacks, who is preparing to wed into one of Nantucket’s most affluent families. However, the groom’s mother, acclaimed author Greer Garrison Winbury, does not approve of the union.

Things were going according to plan, until a body was discovered on the beach, plunging the characters into a tangled maze of homicide, hidden truths, and doubt.

As evidenced by the recently released first trailer (September 3), the series boasts a formidable cast.

Kidman stars as Greer, with her husband Tag Winbury played by Scream icon Liev Schreiber.

At the same time, Dakota Fanning from War of the Worlds has been cast as Abby Winbury, the groom’s sister-in-law. Eve Hewson, who you may know from her previous role in another popular Netflix adaptation, Behind Her Eyes, will be portraying Amelia in this film.

The trailer for The Perfect Couple provides a glimpse into the series’ tone, hinting at a dark and humorous murder mystery that has fans drawing parallels to other popular TV shows.

“One reviewer wrote, “This book is reminiscent of The Fall of House Usher, but without the horror and excessive violence. It’s definitely going on my reading list!”

“I can’t wait any longer,” exclaimed another person, as a third person pointed out the resemblance to Ozark. A fourth person then added, “I’m really looking forward to this, it seems to have a great psychological aspect.”

All six episodes of the Netflix adaptation of The Perfect Couple will be released simultaneously, eliminating the need to wait for weekly installments.

Until then, be sure to explore other new TV shows that will be available for streaming this month. Additionally, you can stay updated on all the latest information about the upcoming seasons of Virgin River, Stranger Things, and Wednesday.
