Players of Elden Ring have come across a comical glitch that transforms their character into a horrifying creature, resembling one of the enemies found in the game.
A recording of the visual anomaly was posted on Reddit with the title “Um…I don’t believe that’s correct,”showcasing the player’s character performing a peculiar dance.
Using the newly introduced Dancing Blade of Ranah in Shadow of the Erdtree, the wielder’s Tarnished seems to divide their spinal column, causing their upper body and limbs to move separately from their lower body.
The attack animations have been compared to those of Elden Ring’s Marionette Soldier enemy, which also displays unpredictable movements.

“One reply jokingly mentioned the Marionette Soldier cosplay, as others drew comparisons between the graceful movements and those of the Flexile Sentry and Dancer of the Boreal Valley from Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III.”
Another person chimed in, stating that the attack combinations of bosses in the DLC are incredibly challenging. They specifically mentioned Messmer the Impaler and Rellana, two bosses found in Shadow of the Erdtree’s Shadow Realm, who move with a speed and rhythm that surpasses the abilities of the player.
To recreate the bug, according to the original poster, it is repeatable, although not consistently.
They clarified that they simply walked forward while using the Ash or War and then turned around to perform the glitch. However, it did take them a few tries to recreate it for the footage. It is uncertain if the Dancing Blade of Ranah is necessary for the glitch, but players can obtain the weapon by defeating the Dancer of Ranah in the Southern Nameless Mausoleum.
Prior to embarking on your journey, it would be beneficial to increase your Scadutree Blessing level. This feature plays a crucial role in Shadow of the Erdtree and can greatly improve your experience in the Shadow Lands.
