Did you notice? At the end of the Yooka-Replaylee trailer, Playtonic Games seems to emphasize the Nintendo logo while notably omitting the Switch logo. The wording in the post also carries a playful undertone.
This has triggered considerable excitement online, with many potential players convinced that the lingering gaze over the logo hints at the Switch 2. Should this be true, it would position Yooka-Replaylee as the first officially confirmed game for the upcoming console.
“No way we’re seeing the first Switch 2 game confirmed like this,” a popular repost on X exclaims. “If indie developers are teasing like this so early, a reveal must be on the horizon.”
Others recalled a similar incident that predated the original Nintendo Switch’s launch, where the trailer for Sonic Forces featured a placeholder ‘NX’ logo that created quite the stir online.
A Kickstarter backer from the Yooka-Laylee campaign posted a screenshot of an email that hints at Playtonic Games being rather open about the upcoming Switch successor. The email stated: “Yooka-Replaylee will be available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and… Nintendo? (Oooh, so mysterious. We’ll provide more details very soon!),”
