Nintendo Switch 2 Design Leaked: First Look at Exciting New Features

The anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 has been a topic of discussion among gaming enthusiasts ever since its announcement. However, detailed information about its design or release date has remained under wraps—until now. A recent leak has surfaced, purportedly presenting a first look at the console’s new design.

This potential leak was shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by a user who posted images and specifications of the “second generation Switch model stp.” This information gained traction when Wario64 on X echoed the leak, adding the new aesthetic to a list of potential specifications.

As with all leaks, it’s crucial to approach this information cautiously, given the lack of official confirmation regarding the specifications and design. However, according to a report by VGC, a source claimed to be informed about the Nintendo Switch 2’s development indicated that “the Reddit images align with what the company has communicated to partners about its design.” This lends a degree of credibility to the images, even if they remain unverified.

The leaked images reportedly display a design resembling the original Switch, but with a USB-C port positioned at the top and a sleeker, more streamlined silhouette. Notably, the stand appears to have been redesigned to occupy most of the back, potentially enhancing the device’s durability.

Furthermore, VGC detailed that the Switch 2 is expected to boast 12GB of RAM—compared to the original Switch’s 4GB—along with support for HDMI 2.1 and 256GB of internal storage, a significant upgrade from the previous 32GB model. This aligns with earlier shipping leaks released earlier this year. Additionally, previous reports hint at a larger 8-inch screen for the Switch 2, although all details remain speculative and unconfirmed.

Nintendo has yet to provide any comment regarding these rumored revelations.
