On August 20th, the video titled “‘JangKaSull? Haha…’ Asking NMIXX’s Sullyoon about JangKaSull (ft. Vocal Power Show)”was posted on the YouTube channel “The KStarNextDoor”.
During the video, Jonathan met with the NMIXX members at their first university festival appearance. Haewon mentioned that it was their first time performing without a rehearsal, but it turned out to be a fun experience. The audience’s reaction was overwhelming and they even joked that the audience was trying to devour them.
Haewon, who considers Park Jin-young her role model, humorously remarked, “One thing I admire about him is his dedication to maintaining physical fitness for performances. That’s not something you can learn from anyone else.” She jokingly challenged, “Correct me if I’m mistaken.”
Jonathan inquired of Sullyoon, “You presented yourself as humble, yet you consistently questioned your fans about your appearance.”With a smile, Sullyoon confessed, “I believe this reveals my longing for validation.”
The term “JangKaSull” was created to describe IVE’s Jang Won Young, aespa’s Karina and NMIXX’s Sullyoon as the leading visuals of the 4th generation of K-pop. During a playful interaction, Jonathan asked Sullyoon, “Your name comes last. Which do you prefer: ‘SullKaJang’ or ‘SullJangKa’?”The members of NMIXX reacted with surprise, exclaiming, “How could you ask such a question?”and “How could you make her choose?”
Sullyoon then redirected the question to Jonathan, inquiring, “What are your thoughts?”Jonathan playfully bantered with the production team, exclaiming, “Are you seriously considering this a script? What sort of question is that? Please amend it. If you proceed with this, I cannot agree to be the host,”causing the set to erupt in laughter.
