Twitch streamer Nick ‘nmplol’ Polom has taken a stand against a faction of Asmongold’s followers who have been targeting other members of the OTK organization on social media.
On October 15, Asmongold ignited significant controversy after his remarks regarding the situation in Palestine during a live stream. He controversially stated that he would not “shed tears”for those who lost their lives in the region, referencing what he termed an “inferior culture.”His comments faced swift backlash from viewers and fellow streamers alike, ultimately resulting in a 14-day suspension of his Twitch account.
In light of the uproar, Asmongold announced he would be stepping down from his leadership role within OTK to focus on his personal well-being. Despite issuing apologies, numerous supporters have continued to vocally defend his statements online.
Asmongold faced heavy criticism on October 14 following his inflammatory comments related to the Palestinian conflict during a stream.
Nick Polom did not hold back in addressing the fanbase that continues to support Asmongold’s remarks while simultaneously targeting OTK members. He expressed disdain for those defending Asmongold’s behavior, calling them “cringe.”He stated, “Listen, he’s our friend, not yours. You don’t need to harass everyone connected to OTK on his behalf. You all appear utterly ridiculous. Just stop. You are making his community look terrible.”
Polom continued, “Grow up. Focus on bettering yourselves. Get employed or hit the gym. It’s incredibly embarrassing to see OTK’s tweets besieged by harassment. Enough already. I rarely speak out like this, but seriously… back off.”
Additionally, Polom responded to a post on X asserting that OTK would be “nothing”without Asmongold. He pointed out the considerable success of himself, Mizkif, Emiru (the top non-VTuber female streamer), and Sodapoppin, making clear that they hold substantial viewer rankings and cannot simply be dismissed.
“We’re not in fourth place like Asmon, but claiming we’re irrelevant without him is seriously misleading,” he remarked.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAI’m 10th NA, Miz is 11th, Emiru is 16th and #1 girl (non-vtuber), Chance is 22nd. We aren’t 4th like Asmon but to say we are nothing without him is super dishonest. https://t.co/2o58rT0ufX
