In episode 8 of No Longer Allowed in Another World, Osamu Dazai and his companions reach the base of the World Tree, the Zauberberg’s most massive tree. Annette explains to Sensei that the tree bestows blessings upon any travelers who visit it.

Upon arriving at the serene village of Toneriko at the foot of the tree, she suggests they stay for a couple of days and pray for their journey’s safety. However, they are met with a stark contrast as Toneriko is engulfed in corruption and depravity, with gamblers littering the streets.

In episode 8 of No Longer Allowed in Another World, it is revealed that the village’s transformation was caused by a small group of Otherworlders who had settled there. Their presence disrupted the peaceful way of life and led to the World Tree’s sorrow. The village’s elder pleads with Sensei and the others to rescue the village from these settlers.

At the same time, Dazai mourns the fact that his supply of sleeping pills has run out. In that moment, a brave Otherworlder named Yamada promises the elder that he will provide aid to the village in regards to the World Tree crisis.

As someone who shares the same origin as the Otherworlders, he sets himself apart by advocating for the eradication of evil and the promotion of peace. Despite being a member of their community, he cannot ignore their wrongdoings. In contrast, Dazai’s eagerness is dampened by his unease at the thought of running out of his prescribed sleeping pills.

Despite his inability to die, he is determined to find a way to end his life. While searching, he stumbles upon a cave that seems to radiate eternal life. Curiosity getting the better of him, he enters and meets a captivating woman by the name of Esche. She leads him to a nearby establishment and offers him a drink.

In episode 8 of No Longer Allowed in Another World, Osamu Dazai confides in Esche about his troubles. The woman promises to ease his worries through her dance, but it ends up having the opposite effect as Sensei finds the idea of making a living through dance abhorrent.

Despite this, Esche’s graceful movements never fail to bring a smile to his face, finding them to be a truly calming sight. The focus of No Longer Allowed in Another World episode 8 then shifts to Sensei’s party, as they search for Dazai. It is at this moment that Esche brings Dazai in, who is unconscious.

The elder of the village, who is familiar with Esche, discloses to Annette and the rest of the villagers that she is infamous as the Witch of Toneriko. As the corrupt Otherworlders took over Toneriko, the villagers were left powerless and unable to do anything.

Despite this, Esche still managed to forge close relationships with the Otherworlders and even went as far as to open a business adjacent to the casino. According to the village elder, Esche’s true age and background remain a mystery.

Despite appearing helpless and poor, they allowed her to remain with them. However, they grieve over her betrayal. Yamada believes that not only the Otherworlders, but also the woman, must face consequences for her actions.

The following day, Osamu Dazai departs for the peaceful refuge of Esche’s establishment, choosing not to participate in the fight against the Otherworlders. Yamada suspects that Dazai has fallen under the spell of the woman’s allure. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic that Sensei will regain his senses once the accursed den of the invaders is vanquished.

In episode 8 of No Longer Allowed in Another World, Dazai is seen having a casual conversation with Esche. She shares information about the world tree, which is said to provide relief to those who are vulnerable and suffering. However, Dazai believes that it is Esche herself who is in dire need of salvation.

After witnessing her dance filled with sorrow the other day, he came to the realization. In that instant, a group of deceitful Otherworlders show up. Upon realizing their declining profits, the Otherworlders plot to involve the villagers in their operations.

Despite Esche’s request to keep the villagers out of their problems, they refuse to listen. In episode 8 of No Longer Allowed in Another World, Dazai tells Esche that she should not be referred to as a Witch, but rather as a Goddess.

While Yamada continues to cause chaos outside, his ultimate goal remains the same – to bring justice to the evil Otherworlders and Esche, who he deems a “witch.”But just as he is about to take action with his blade, Osamu Dazai intervenes. Dazai expresses his disdain for those who loudly impose their own sense of righteousness onto others.

Despite Dazai’s warnings, Yamada refuses to back down and successfully defeats the corrupt settlers, forcing them to leave the village. The villagers celebrate Yamada as their hero, but their attitude towards Esche turns to one of disdain. Dazai then reveals that it was actually Esche who cleverly distracted the settlers, preventing them from involving the villagers in their corrupt dealings.

Despite vilifying her name for the sake of the village, the villagers remain adamant. Unable to withstand the accusations, Esche decides to depart from the village. As the crowd cheers loudly, Yamada begins to comprehend Sensei’s words and questions whether his actions were justified.

Despite not having a solution, Sensei is aware that the village’s guardian deity has left with Esche’s departure. As a result, the village elder turns to Yamada and requests that he take on the role of the village’s defender, shielding them from any harm.

The people of Toneriko become frantic as they are unable to understand the cause of this strange occurrence. In the midst of chaos, Sensei catches sight of an ethereal being bearing a resemblance to Esche.

Her gratitude towards Sensei for understanding her is expressed and she offers blessings so that he may find some peace in his life. The eighth episode of No Longer Allowed in Another World concludes with the shocking revelation that Esche was, in fact, the spirit of the World Tree.
