Venom: The Last Dance is poised to introduce Knull on screen for the first time, marking the arrival of one of Marvel’s most formidable and menacing villains. Rumor has it that Norman Reedus might take on this iconic role.
The title of Venom 3 isn’t merely a tease: this installment is anticipated to be the concluding chapter in Tom Hardy’s series. Some speculate it may also lay the groundwork for Spider-Man 4 featuring Tom Holland’s black suit.
In this grand finale, the film will showcase Knull, the god of darkness and the progenitor of the symbiotes, as one of the primary antagonists. He is briefly referenced in the latest trailer, yet Sony has not confirmed the actor’s identity, leaving fans to wonder if it could indeed be Reedus.
Norman Reedus (almost definitely) isn’t playing Knull
For Knull enthusiasts, it’s highly unlikely that Norman Reedus will portray the villain in Venom 3, despite the confusion surrounding this rumor.
An account on X/Twitter, Cinema Souless, tweeted that Reedus was cast as Knull based on a supposed announcement from the official Venom account. However, a quick review of the movie’s page reveals no such casting news has emerged recently.

This scenario is a clear case of misinformation. The account that shared this news has a mere 154 followers and is known for posting unverified claims. It even made unfounded statements about Spider-Man 4’s runtime, which is still in pre-production.
Regrettably, a larger account, Rejected Scooper, with over 20,000 followers, also echoed the casting rumor involving Reedus.
That said, it’s not impossible. Sony has yet to confirm Reedus’ involvement, so fans should stay tuned but also temper their expectations.
The speculation surrounding Reedus has sparked interest among the fanbase. “Honestly, Norman Reedus would make an amazing Knull even if this is fake,” one user remarked.
Another user declared, “Norman Reedus, as Knull, the King of the Symbiotes, is peak casting! Good job, Sony,” while yet another fan expressed, “I’m so excited for Norman Reedus as Knull like it’s perfect for him,” praising the potential casting.
Who are the villains in Venom 3?
Knull will be just one of the adversaries in Venom 3. Tom Hardy’s character, Eddie, along with Venom, will also confront the Klyntar, the symbiote race invading Earth.
Additionally, they will face Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character, a government agent who aims to capture Venom, identified as Orwell Taylor.
Moreover, there’s the looming presence of Toxin, the symbiote linked to Patrick Mulligan, portrayed by Stephen Graham. Following his near-death encounter with Shriek in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, his fate remains uncertain, with his last appearance showing a potential transformation.
While Knull’s exact involvement in the film is unclear, sources suggest that there might be plans for Knull to create a connection between Sony’s universe and the MCU, potentially leading to a team-up with Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4.
