Norme has achieved the Guinness World Record for the longest period of time a person has gone without sleep. His viral livestream came to an end on Rumble after being banned from multiple platforms, resulting in the police performing a welfare check and ambulances arriving at the scene.
Norme’s objective was to remain awake for 12 consecutive days, surpassing the Guinness World Record. However, this attempt is no longer recognized by Guinness as the previous record of 453 hours no longer meets their standards.
Due to the controversy surrounding his stream, Norme was removed from YouTube and Kick. However, he chose to carry on with his no-sleep stream on Rumble.
Despite facing numerous interruptions, including visits from police and emergency services, Norme managed to beat the world record after 11 days with a time of 264 hours and 24 minutes.

Despite breaking the record, Norme faced some challenges during his marathon. Throughout the event, he had 9,000 viewers on Rumble and towards the end, the Police were called for a welfare check-up, which he described as “swatting”.
An ambulance was also called for him too just hours after the police arrived.
After being awake for 264 hours and 56 minutes, Norme officially concluded his Rumble stream. He plans to return to streaming on Twitch once he has had enough rest.

Since 1997, the record for the longest time awake has not been monitored by Guinness due to the harmful impact it has on the human body. This record is currently held by Robert McDonald, who stayed awake for a total of 453 hours and 40 minutes.
Norme’s time would have been sufficient to surpass Randy Gardner’s record in 1964, when he stayed awake for 264 hours. However, in recent years, two individuals, McDonald and Maureen Weston, have exceeded this record by staying awake for over 400 hours.
Norme’s attempt, unlike all previous attempts, lacked medical professionals on board to monitor his health. This raised concerns about his well-being.
