Obito as a Hokage could have been the end of Naruto-verse (& for a compelling reason)

Despite the conclusion of the series some time ago, Obito continues to be a hot topic of discussion in the Naruto fandom. The beloved animanga series, particularly the show, has had a profound influence on the shonen genre as a whole. As a result, it is not uncommon to see fans still engaging in debates and speculations about various aspects of the series, including their favorite characters.

In a recent discussion, fans have been speculating about the potential impact of Obito becoming the Hokage in the final moments of the series. If this were to have been the actual ending, the plot would have been significantly altered as his choices had a profound ripple effect on the story.

As mentioned previously, if Obito Uchiha had become the Hokage in the Naruto series, it would have significantly altered the plot. Many key moments in the story are closely tied to him. Despite not receiving much screen time in the earlier seasons, his behind-the-scenes actions greatly influenced the overall narrative.

An essential element of the plot is the death of Minato Namikaze. Fans of the series are aware that Minato, the Fourth Hokage of the village, lost his life during his battle against the Nine-Tailed Beast, Kurama. It was Obito who successfully extracted Kurama from Kushina, the Jinchuriki at the time.

Despite not harboring any ill will towards Kushina, he viewed this as an essential part of his plan, influenced by Madara Uchiha’s manipulation. With the help of his Sharingan, he was able to place Kurama under a powerful Genjutsu and commanded it to launch an attack on Konohagakure. In the intense battle that ensued, Minato sacrificed his life to protect his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki, and the village.

If the Uchiha member had been chosen as the Hokage, it is possible that Minato would still be alive and all of the subsequent events could have been prevented. As a result, Naruto would have had a very different upbringing with his parents present. However, it is worth considering that the loss of his parents was a significant motivator for Naruto’s strength and determination, and this outcome may not have resulted in the same level of strength and determination in Minato’s son.

Moreover, Obito was not only determined to become a Hokage, but also demonstrated immense maturity by actively promoting peace within the village. If he had been chosen as the Hokage, it is likely that the tragic Uchiha clan massacre would have been prevented.

Despite facing discrimination, the Uchiha clan still desired to overthrow the village through a coup. However, if they had witnessed one of their own rising in rank and approaching the position of Hokage, the unrest in the village may have been less severe. Additionally, if Minato had been alive, he would have been able to closely monitor Danzo and prevent the Uchiha Clan massacre from being carried out.

One can argue that if a different Hokage had been chosen, many characters in Naruto would have had a more satisfying conclusion. The significance of Obito’s influence on the overall storyline of the animanga series is evident in these reasons. As a result, fans continue to speculate on the potential outcomes and whether they would have led to a more optimistic ending.
