Obtaining Alethonym Catalyst in Destiny 2: A Step-by-Step Guide

Discover the upgraded power of the Alethonym catalyst in Destiny 2, along with a straightforward guide on how to unlock it and its impactful features.

The Episode Revenant update introduced a variety of new weapons, including the Alethonym—a unique Exotic Grenade Launcher that operates on primary ammunition.

This weapon’s intrinsic perk, known as Harvester Spike, allows it to generate remnants, which can be utilized to create both Special and Heavy ammo bricks for your team. This feature makes it particularly advantageous for challenging activities where ammo scarcity is a concern.

While the Grenade Launcher is robust on its own, its effectiveness can be further enhanced by acquiring the Exotic catalyst. To obtain this, players must first complete specific requirements. In this guide, we outline the steps to successfully unlock the Alethonym catalyst in Destiny 2.

Unlocking the Alethonym Exotic Catalyst

To unlock the Alethonym catalyst, you must achieve Rank 145 in the Episode Revenant Season Pass.

However, reaching this rank will only be possible after the commencement of Revenant Act 2 on November 19, 2024. Act 1 allows Guardians to progress only up to Rank 100, with additional ranks being accessible in subsequent acts.

Functionality of the Alethonym Catalyst

The Alethonym catalyst adds the perk One For All to the Exotic Grenade Launcher. This significant perk increases damage output by 35% for a duration of 10 seconds when you strike three different targets within three seconds.

This addition is particularly beneficial for the Alethonym, allowing players to easily trigger the damage boost by engaging clusters of enemies simultaneously. A consistent 35% damage increase with minimal effort is invaluable, so it’s advisable to aim for this catalyst at your earliest convenience.
