The highly anticipated headliner for Pokémon Go’s October 2024 Community Day is Sewaddle!
Community Day is a monthly feature in Pokémon Go, spotlighting a specific Pokémon with enhanced wild spawns, increased Shiny probabilities, exclusive moves upon evolution, and various bonuses such as extended Incense duration.
These Community Days now last for three hours and are always scheduled on weekends, ensuring maximum player participation. They rank among the most popular events in the Pokémon Go calendar, alongside Spotlight Hours.

October Community Day Date & Time
The October 2024 Pokémon Go Community Day is set for Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.

Sewaddle takes center stage as the star of this upcoming Community Day event, offering Trainers an increased chance to encounter it.
Boosted Shiny Odds for Sewaddle
During this event, Sewaddle will benefit from heightened Shiny odds.
Sewaddle Community Day Exclusive Moves
If a Trainer evolves a Swadloon (the evolved form of Sewaddle) during the Community Day or within 5 hours after, they’ll obtain a Leavanny with the Fast Attack Shadow Claw. This move boasts 9 power in Trainer Battles and 6 power in Gym Battles and Raids.
Pokémon Go Sewaddle Community Day Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be active during October’s Community Day:
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- One additional Special Trade can be made, allowing for a maximum of two trades for the day*
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust*
Bonuses marked with an asterisk will be available from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time, instead of just during the 3-hour event window.
Swadloon in 4-Star Raids Following the Event
The excitement continues beyond the Community Day! Trainers will have access to 4-Star Raid Battles featuring Swadloon until 10 PM.
Winning one of these Raids will trigger additional Sewaddle with enhanced Shiny odds to appear around the Gym for 30 minutes. Note that these Raid Battles cannot be joined using Remote Raid Passes; participation requires being present at the location.
How to Prepare for Pokémon Go Sewaddle Community Day
To fully enjoy Community Day, consider the following preparations:
- Purchase Incense for use during the event, as they will last longer than usual.
- Save any Lure Modules, which will be active for three hours during the event.
- Stock up on Ultra Balls to catch plenty of the featured Pokémon.
- Transfer unwanted Pokémon in advance to ensure adequate space for capturing.
- Review the bonuses available during the event to maximize benefits.
Additionally, a ticket for the October Community Day Special Research story will be available for purchase in the in-game shop closer to the date of the event.
Sewaddle Community Day Field Research Tasks
During this Community Day, special Field Research Tasks will be available, offering encounters with Sewaddle, Stardust, Great Balls, and more. Further details will be updated as they become available.
