October 2024 Schedule for Pokemon Go PokeStop Showcase Events

PokeStop Showcases are set to take place in the upcoming weeks in Pokemon Go, with various challenges rolling out alongside the fall events. Here’s the current schedule for October 2024.

PokeStop Showcases offer players the opportunity to compete against one another in short-term contests held at PokeStops. Participants select a Pokemon from their Pokemon Go team that best fits the criteria of the showcase and submit it at the PokeStop.

Unlike traditional battles, the PokeStop Showcases evaluate your Pokemon based on various criteria, including their size. If your Pokemon outshines the competition, you can earn rewards such as Stardust, XP, and Fast TMs.

How to Locate PokeStop Showcases

You can identify PokeStop Showcases on the overworld map by looking for a small blue disc hovering above them. Once you’ve entered a Pokemon into a Showcase, this disc will turn purple. Remember to keep an eye on the leaderboard to track your performance!

How to Enter a Showcase

Similar to spinning PokeStops, players must be within range of an active Showcase PokeStop to enter a Pokemon. When in range:

  • Tap the PokeStop
  • Select the “Showcase” option
  • Enter the Pokemon that fits the event’s criteria

Alternatively:

  • Get within range of a PokeStop hosting an active Showcase
  • Catch a Pokemon that meets the Showcase criteria while in range
  • Select “Enter Nearby PokeStop Showcase” during the catch summary

Players who submit a Pokemon to a Showcase can still utilize them in battles or Raids, but a single Pokemon cannot participate in multiple Showcases simultaneously.

Rewards for Pokemon Go Showcases

Every trainer who joins a Showcase will receive XP and Stardust upon its conclusion. Those who rank in the top three can also win additional rewards, which may include:

  • Hyper Potions
  • Ultra Balls
  • Great Balls
  • Fast TMs
  • Charged TMs
  • Golden Razz Berries
  • Silver Pinap Berries
  • Limited Use Incubators
  • Super Incubators
  • Lucky Eggs
  • Star Pieces
  • Lure Modules
  • Rainy Lure Modules
  • Magnetic Lure Modules
  • Glacial Lure Modules
  • Mossy Lure Modules

Participating in Showcases is an excellent strategy for acquiring premium items, especially Lure Modules, which can be costly and challenging to obtain without spending PokeCoins. Therefore, it’s beneficial to participate in as many Showcases as possible when they are active.

Tips for Winning a Showcase

As of now, the primary judging criteria for a showcase in Pokemon Go is size. To win a showcase, players should enter a suitable Pokemon with the largest size possible. The size is determined through an algorithm that calculates scaled height multiplied by 800 divided by max height. This value is then added to scaled weight multiplied by 150 divided by max weight. Finally, the total is combined with the Pokemon’s IV sum multiplied by 50 divided by 45. This outcome is further enhanced by a bonus for XXL Pokemon of 178 points; standard Pokemon do not receive this bonus.

While it may not be feasible for players to perform these calculations in the heat of the moment while competing in Showcases, it’s prudent to keep track of your largest Pokemon in your roster for optimal scoring.
