Official Trailer and Visual for The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon Arc Anime Released Before Premiere

On Friday, September 6, 2024, the team behind the popular rom-com anime The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon Arc released the first official promotional video and a new visual. The brief clip features the beloved characters and showcases the series’ theme. Excitingly, the anime will have a limited theatrical run in Japan for three weeks, starting September 20, 2024, before its TV broadcast.

The Honeymoon Arc of The Quintessential Quintuplets is a standalone anime, overseen by Negi Haruba, the author of the series. The project was officially announced by the staff during the 5th-anniversary event of the series at Yokohama Arena on April 28 of this year. It revolves around the honeymoon trip of Futaro Uesagi and the Nakano sisters to Hawaii.

On Friday, September 6, 2024, Pony Canyon released the initial trailer and a fresh visual for The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon Arc anime. Additionally, they announced that the English title for the anime is The Quintessential Quintuplets Specials 2.

The premiere of the original anime project in Japan will take place on September 20, 2024, and will run for three weeks before its television broadcast. Details about the TV broadcast will be announced at a later date.

The most noteworthy aspect of the new trailer is its inclusion of various scenes from the film, highlighting the main character, Futaro Uesagi, and the five Nakano sisters. The group is shown enjoying the lively beaches of Hawaii, portraying their unadulterated happiness and personal development as adults in the 36-second-long video.

Besides Pony Canyon, the official X handle for the romantic comedy anime has also released the PV to fans. The brief video confirms that the film will only be shown in select countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Apart from the PV, the staff has also revealed the primary visual for The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon Arc anime. The artwork beautifully portrays the Nakano sisters with gleeful expressions against the vibrant backdrop of the Hawaiian sky and ocean.

The romantic comedy anime includes a familiar cast, with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka once again playing the role of Futaro Uesagi. Kana Hanazawa portrays Ichika Nakano, while Ayane Sakura, Miku Ito, Inori Minase, and Ayana Taketatsu reprise their roles as Yotsuba, Niku, Itsuki, and Nino Nakano, respectively.

Masato Jinbo oversees the direction and scriptwriting at Bibury Animation Studio, while Masato Katsumata is responsible for character design. Negi Haruba is working in conjunction with Masato-san on the scripts. The music is being composed by Natsumi Tabuchi, Hanae Nakamura, and Miki Sakurai.

The Nakano sisters’ voice actors have sung both the opening theme song, Gotobun no Egao (Quintuplets Smile), and the ending theme, Memories, for the anime.

The upcoming anime, The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon Arc, is based on the original concept by Negi Haruba and follows the story of Futaro Uesagi and the Nakano sisters as they embark on a “honeymoon”trip to Hawaii. Despite the smooth preparations, their trip takes an unexpected turn and they find themselves facing trouble in Hawaii. The anime guarantees to portray the well-known chemistry between the characters.
