YooA’s recent fashion choices as a member of Oh My Girl have been met with disapproval from Korean netizens.
On June 27, 2024, a user shared a post titled “YooA’s hair and make-up makes her look so old”on Nate Pann, a highly popular online community forum in South Korea.
The post featured two photos of YooA shared by the original poster: one from 2023 and one from 2019. The author also mentioned that the 2019 photo is the image of YooA that they associate with her.
Despite being photographed in various styles, YooA’s appearance shows significant differences. For instance, in 2019 she was spotted with fair complexion and see-through bangs that beautifully framed her round face. She enhanced her round eyes with puppy eyeliner, aegyosal, and subtle eyelashes, while her lips appeared plump and pink. Overall, the idol exudes a more youthful and innocent vibe.
At the same time, the photo taken in 2023 features YooA with a more sophisticated appearance. She traded in her bangs for long, straight black hair and also opted for a softer cat-eye eyeliner look. Furthermore, she is sporting a nude lip with a glossy finish.
Her appearance in 2023 has remained consistent, garnering negative feedback from Korean netizens. While they understand that this may be YooA’s preferred style, they believe it does not suit her. They also expressed disappointment that, as an established idol, she may have stopped considering the preferences of her fans, leaving a bitter impression on Korean netizens.
Despite people believing that her current styling does not suit her, it is a shame because she has a naturally pretty face. Many would prefer if she stuck with the styling from her “Bon Voyage”era or the styling she had during Oh My Girl’s earlier days. However, the idol chooses to go for a more hip and sexy look instead.
