The official website and social media account of the anime Oi! Tonbo! announced on Saturday, June 29, 2024 that a second season has been green-lit and will be released in Fall 2024. A teaser visual shared by the anime’s staff reveals that the upcoming season will take place in Kumamoto.
The image shows a golf ball placed on a vibrant green field. Along with the reveal of the sequel, the staff also confirmed that the first season will air on July 6, 2024. Further information about the sequel is still to be revealed.
It is worth mentioning that the original cast members and crew of this sports anime are anticipated to return to their respective roles. Rika Hayashi lent her voice to the protagonist, Tonbo Oi, and Hiroki Tochi portrayed Kazuyoshi Igarashi.
The most recent season also included Katsuhisa Hoki as Kuta, Tasuku Hatanaka as Rintaro, Fumiko Takekuma as Yuya Udo, Eri Kitamura as Tsubura Adaniya, and various other actors.
Jin Gu Oh, who is well-known for his work on Beyblade Burst GT and other anime, was the director for the first season at OLM Studios. The script was written and supervised by Mitsutaka Hirota, while the characters were designed by Akira Takeuchi. The series music was composed by Nobuko Toda.

Inspired by Ken Kawasaki’s golf manga, the Oi! Tonbo! anime series tells the story of Kazuyoshi Igarashi, a professional golfer who is banned from playing and decides to leave the public eye by relocating to Tokara island in Kagoshima Prefecture following a particular event.
In addition to the plant and animal life, Kazuyoshi also comes across a homemade golf course on the islands. It is there that he meets Tonbo, a young girl who practices the game diligently every day. She impresses him with her exceptional skills, leading the professional golfer to offer his assistance with her training.
The second season of Oi! Tonbo! is expected to follow Tonbo and Kazuyoshi’s continued adventures. Based on the events of the previous season, it is possible that the sequel will explore Tonbo’s difficulties outside of the island.
