Omega X’s Hwichan Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Sexual Assault Against Former Agency CEO

On August 2nd, legal sources reported that the Seoul Seongdong Police Station had sent Hwichan to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office on August 1st, charging him with forced indecent act.

In March, at a press conference, Spire Entertainment, the former agency of Omega X, stated that “Hwichan, who was feeling distressed about his upcoming military enlistment, unexpectedly made advances towards former CEO Kang while Kang was consoling him.”This incident resulted in Spire Entertainment filing a police report.

Additionally, Spire Entertainment released CCTV footage of Hwichan, who was under the influence of alcohol, touching former CEO Kang’s chest.

Spire also expressed, “We were initially hesitant to file a criminal complaint as we did not want to label a young member as a sex offender. However, we were compelled to take action when Omega X members retaliated by accusing Kang of forcing indecent acts.”In defense, Omega X’s representatives claimed that the situation stemmed from “coercion by former CEO Kang.”

Since November 2022, Omega X and Spire Entertainment have been involved in a legal dispute regarding accusations of forced indecent acts and related matters.
