It is a common practice among anime fans to compare Dragon Ball’s Son Goku to other strong characters. With the conclusion of the second season of the adult animated series Invincible, one fan decided to test the strength of the show’s strongest character, Omni-Man.
Despite the similarities between a strong character and Son Goku that fans often compare, when it comes to Omni-Man, fans have chosen to liken him to Krillin. This may have been perceived as insulting by some, but it sparked a heated debate among fans. As expected, Dragon Ball fans took the opportunity to troll the Invincible community.
Dragon Ball fans mock Invincible fans over Krillin vs Omni-Man debate
One Dragon Ball fan, who goes by the handle @DragonBallBLK on the social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), posed a question to his followers on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
“Could Krillin stop Omni Man?”
Despite the potential disagreement of various pop culture enthusiasts, Dragon Ball fans were not deterred from taking the chance to tease Invincible fans. This teasing led to the creation of the term “Omni Jobber,”as these fans were convinced that Omni-Man would inevitably be defeated by Krillin.
Many fans of the show consider Omni-Man to be the most powerful character in his universe. As a result, he is highly praised by the show’s fans for his strength. This has led to comparisons being made between Omni-Man and the DC Superhero Superman. With such comparisons, it is understandable that fans may have also expected him to be compared to the powerful character Son Goku. However, to their disappointment, instead of being compared to Goku, they were faced with numerous comparisons to the much weaker character Krillin.
Interestingly, the alleged trolling was not as prevalent as expected, considering the reasonable arguments put forth by the fans during the debate.
How Fans Responded to the Krillin vs Omni-Man Debate
Even though fans were aware of Omni-Man’s immense strength within his own universe, many still believed that Krillin surpassed him in power. This was due to Krillin’s already impressive strength during the Saiyan Saga, which only continued to increase after the events of the Namek Saga.
“Anything beyond the potential unlock on Namek violently stomps Omni-Man,”one fan said.
“He could easily body the entire invincible war alone, putting dbz characters against anything is unfair,”another added.
Despite some fans believing that it was unfair to pit any Dragon Ball characters against others due to the extreme power scaling in the Akira Toriyama series, Krillin, who is generally seen as a weaker character, was still powerful enough to single-handedly defeat any other verse.
One fan pointed out that in Dragon Ball Super, Krillin was able to hold his own against Super Saiyan Blue Goku, a form that allows one to rival even gods. This realization made it clear that Omni-Man stood no chance against Krillin.
“Current Krillin was swapping hands with Suppressed Blue Goku and he kick Cell Max in the face lmao. The only Krillin OMNIMAN could kill is anything PRE Namek awakening,”a fan explained.
“Yes……like horribly easily. Yamcha in the saiyan saga could stop omniman,”another added.
“Absolutely not. I’m shocked how many people think Krillin could actually beat Omni man,”another fan claimed.
One fan went as far as to propose a controversial notion to Invincible fans, suggesting that even Yamcha would stand a chance against the formidable Omni-Man. To the surprise of many, Dragon Ball fans also expressed agreement with this idea.
Despite this, there were still some fans who couldn’t believe that Krillin could defeat Omni-Man. However, the overwhelming number of Dragon Ball fans silenced their dissenting views on the subject.
