Players of Baldur’s Gate 3 have been discussing their experience with a specific race that makes Act 1 seem effortless.
One of the greatest aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3 is the ability to have a unique playthrough based on the race you choose. This not only affects combat, but also impacts dialogue choices and the reactions of companions and NPCs towards you.
Despite there being a variety of races in the game, there is one race, aside from the Githyanki, that is particularly reactive. This race also happens to make Act 1 much easier as they are able to easily navigate situations that other races may struggle with.
The Underdark elf known as the Drow has been a popular topic among players, as seen in a Reddit discussion. As a Drow, players have the option to align with either Lolth or Seldarine, with the latter often being considered the “good”path.
Drows are driven to the Underdark.
No matter which option you select, many of the individuals you encounter on the surface will likely feel fear, caution, or even admiration towards you.
Additionally, being a Drow comes with the advantage of instilling fear in evil NPCs, such as goblins. This makes infiltrating their camp a simple task. A commenter even described this race as “the ultimate shortcut for Act 1.”
According to another user, people are afraid of you and willingly allow you to enter without any resistance or need for persuasion. They immediately assume you are a True Soul. This is demonstrated by the ease with which you were able to poison the jug in the goblin camp.
“One user remarked, ‘If you’re being accused of poisoning the goblins, you could always say ‘Consider yourself lucky I didn’t gut you instead’, and they would probably just be like ‘Okay, fair enough.’ “
At the same time, a different user who had no prior knowledge of the game was pleasantly surprised when they created a character named “Muscle Drow Bard Lady.”They remarked, “I couldn’t believe how effortlessly I was able to make successful rolls and intimidate others.”
Your passive immunity allows you to catch Priestess Gut off guard when she is unable to put you to sleep with her drink in the goblin camp, giving you an advantage.
Moreover, should you encounter Kagha in the Druid’s Grove as a Drow, you will be pleasantly surprised by her reaction. She will acknowledge your presence as a “sign”or a “gift”in the grove.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, every race has its own unique dialogues, including the Drow who have particularly intriguing ones, especially if you choose to play an evil character.
