Enduring constant hordes of zombies in Call of Duty has always required nerves of steel, a challenge that Treyarch reaffirmed in Black Ops 6 with their implementation of a restriction on self-reviving.
In Zombies mode, Self-Revives are an equipment item that enables players to revive themselves if they are downed. To obtain them in Black Ops 6, players must craft them at a designated table.
Crafting requires players to have Salvage, which can be obtained as ground loot from zombies. When it comes to tactical items like smoke or concussion grenades, players have the ability to craft as many as they desire until their inventory is full or they exhaust their supply of Salvage.
Despite confirmation from CharlieIntel that Treyarch has limited the number of Self-Revives a player can have in a match to three in Black Ops 6, this decision was made in order to increase the difficulty of higher-round gameplay.
Despite having been previously implemented in various classic CoD Zombies titles, players are still happy to see the return of this restriction.

Quick Revive should not be mistaken for Self-Revives, as it is a Perk-a-Cola that decreases the delay in health regeneration and the time it takes to revive a teammate by 50%. However, like Self-Revives, Quick Revive is also restricted to three uses.
“It’s a huge change that we only get 3 overall lives now,”argued CoD Zombies YouTuber Syndicate, but at least it’s a positive one.
Despite receiving mostly positive feedback, a portion of the player community feels that players should be allowed more than three Self-Revives.
“I believe this could be one of the initial L’s,”stated a second user. “I support the idea of restricting self-revives, but perhaps limit it to around five.”
Despite this, players are prepared to achieve high round runs without having to depend on an equipment item as a crutch.
“I agree, this is a positive change. Zombies had become too simple,”commented a third person.
Activision has announced that on August 28, 2024, at the Call of Duty: Next event, they will be sharing additional details about Zombies. In the meantime, players can familiarize themselves with the upcoming GobbleGums and save and quit feature for the game mode.
