Despite the ongoing struggle of the heroes against the greatest villain, All For One, each chapter continues to elevate the battle to new heights. In the previous chapter, Class 1-A united and utilized Kurogiri’s portal to aid Deku, who had relinquished One For All. Despite his despair, Deku clings onto a glimmer of hope.
The upcoming release of Chapter 422 in the series will pick up where the previous one ended, set for Monday, May 13, 2024. Although it is still a few days away, spoilers have already emerged, hinting at an emotionally charged chapter.
Class 1-A vs All For One
The title of Chapter 422 of My Hero Academia is “Izuku Midoriya—Rising.”This chapter focuses on Deku’s path as a hero while he is unable to utilize his Quirk.
The chapter opens with Aoyama struggling to keep up with Deku as AFO unleashes his tentacles, causing destruction to the ground. In a desperate moment, Aizawa calls on Shirakumo to create another portal. However, Shirakumo’s weakened state prevents him from using his quirk.
As the other heroes continued their relentless attacks on All For One, their main objective was to create an opportunity for Deku to reach him. Despite this, AFO suddenly prepared for another “full release”assault, but this time, he was completely composed and determined not to be defeated. AFO fired a laser at Deku, but fortunately, Hagakure was able to intercept it.
Yaoyoruzu invented a railgun that was powered by Kaminari’s electricity. Despite this, AFO managed to deflect the attack. AFO then utilized his black tentacles to strike Deku, but he was saved by the other heroes who advised him not to exhaust his energy. Shoji and Tsuyu then assisted Deku by propelling him forward.
As Deku bravely pressed forward, Kirishima and Ashido valiantly intercepted another powerful blow from AFO. Despite their weakened state, the heroes’ determination perplexed AFO as he struggled to defeat them. Eventually, it dawned on AFO that Deku’s vulnerability had motivated his friends to rally and fight alongside him.
Gentle fashioned a trampoline for Deku to use in propelling himself towards AFO. Tenya and Lila aided him in getting closer to AFO, and in that moment, Deku comprehended the true meaning behind Ochaco’s words on their first day at U.A. regarding the nickname “Deku,”which invoked the idea of “doing one’s best.”
The Role of Deku in My Hero Academia Chapter 422
Despite All For One’s attempt to use another attack, he was left confused and bleeding from the hole in his hand. Meanwhile, in the helicopter, Ochaco and the other characters cheered for Deku, while the US President commanded for all their heroes to be dispatched to Japan to assist with the ongoing battle.
As the US pilots tended to All Might’s wounds, he thought back to the day when he saw Deku run and how it inspired him to do the same. It is uncertain which event All Might is referring to, whether it was the day Deku rushed to save Bakugo or a future event. Nevertheless, on that particular day, Deku became the greatest hero in All Might’s eyes.
The concluding slide depicts Deku successfully landing a punch on All For One as his mother, Inko Midoriya, cheerfully supports him. It is possible that this is his ultimate punch, utilizing the remaining power of One For All.
