One of Deadlock’s Most Popular Characters Also Has the Lowest Win Rate

Deadlock statistics have shown that a character with one of the highest pick rates in the game also has the lowest win rate. Despite her popularity, she struggles to win matches. However, this raises the question: is her low win rate indicative of her skill level?

Despite not being fully released yet, Valve’s new MOBA shooter, Deadlock, has already garnered a significant and devoted player following. Those fortunate enough to have access have enthusiastically given positive feedback, commending its gameplay, characters, and other aspects.

Vindicta, a long-range specialist with a backstory linked to the Salem Witch Trials and the supernatural, has quickly become a fan-favorite character. According to Tracklock, she boasts a current pick rate of 85.64%, ranking her third behind only Seven (91.38%) and Haze (87.44%).

Despite this, gamers have uncovered that she currently holds the title for having the lowest win rate among all heroes in the game.

Although this may seem unfavorable for Vindicta, those who commented on the Reddit post were able to provide explanations for her apparent struggles.

“One commenter stated that Vindicta’s popularity has made her a victim, and that skilled players with good aim are able to dominate with her.”

Despite being marked as an easy character, Vindicta’s high pick rate works against her in a significant manner, given that her abilities heavily rely on the player’s skill level. This is evident in our own tier list, which states that “Vindicta would be in C-Tier if it weren’t for one thing: Her ultimate.”It is clear that Vindicta is anything but easy to master.

Vindicta’s ultimate operates by granting her bonus Souls whenever she secures a kill with her sniper. By maxing out this ability early, she can earn a whopping 850 souls per Assassinate kill. If she manages to snowball in the early stages of the game, she can dominate matches. However, this playstyle comes with a significant risk and demands precise aim.

Additionally, another user pointed out that she is known as “the squishiest character in the game,”making it effortless for inexperienced vindicta players to farm her.

This is not the first instance where a beloved character in a competitive game has faced this issue. Some other viewers drew parallels between Vindicta’s predicament and that of Shadow Fiend from Dota 2 or Yasuo from League of Legends.

Fortunately for Vindicta fans, the potential for improvements in Deadlock is still high. The developers have already begun making balancing adjustments, such as in the August 29 update, so there is a chance that future changes will make her even more formidable or user-friendly.
