A well-known One Piece voice actor has joined the Dandadan team, lending her voice to one of the anime’s most peculiar characters.
The Dandadan anime made its highly anticipated premiere on October 4, 2024, captivating fans all over the globe with its debut episode. This anime adaptation continues to receive acclaim, giving One Piece aficionados yet another motive to tune in.
Turbo Granny, a pivotal supporting character in the series, is voiced by Mayumi Tanaka, who has been the voice of Luffy since 1999. As a seasoned veteran in the voice acting industry, fans are thrilled to hear her portray this quirky character. Turbo Granny is depicted as a yokai that protagonists Momo and Okuran encounter in a tunnel located in Shono City.
She will take on the role of the primary antagonist in the Turbo Granny Arc, marking the debut arc of the series. Nevertheless, fans can expect to see more from Turbo Granny as she reappears throughout the franchise, despite her somewhat comedic introduction, earning her affection from the community.

Fans find Mayumi Tanaka’s new role quite humorous as one comment stated, “Yeah, it is. Mayumi Tanaka’s name has appeared in the trailers, it’s just funny hearing her offer her treats and talk about gobbling weenies lolol.”
