One Piece and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Share One Hated Similarity Among Fans

Though One Piece and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex are distinct in their storytelling, they do share one common aspect that is disliked by many fans – the use of power-ups.

In Chapter 1118 of One Piece, a character receives a significant power boost. In the subsequent chapter, Bonney undergoes a complete transformation into Sun God Nika, becoming the second character to do so on screen after Luffy.

In a similar fashion, Boruto Two Blue Vortex recently passed down Naruto’s iconic powers to his daughter Himawari. In Chapter 9, Kurama was revived within the youngest Uzumaki, resulting in the girl now sharing a body and soul with the powerful beast.

Despite their apparent differences, these two events serve the same purpose of showcasing the protagonist’s special talent to another person. Each instance holds significance within its respective story, as Bonney’s extraordinary Devil Fruit abilities and Kurama’s reappearance were foreshadowed earlier on.

Despite this, some fans are still left disappointed. Generally, most fans hope for the protagonist to possess unique abilities as they have followed their journey for many years. Furthermore, it was a long and difficult process for both Naruto and Luffy to perfect their transformations into the Bijuu form and Gear 5.

Therefore, the sudden transformation of Himawari and Bonney into incredibly powerful forms has been met with disapproval from many. The criticism for ruining the series’ best moment by reviving Kurama in Boruto Two Blue Vortex has already been received, and now the same issue is arising in One Piece.

“According to one X user, the power-ups in One Piece and Boruto Two Blue Vortex are equivalent as they both criticize their respective series regardless of the content.”

“Another critic, added that Chapter 1118 was a major letdown as it ruined Gear 5. They believed that this power should have solely belonged to Luffy and perfectly aligned with his character, actions, and ultimate goal. The way he attained it during the Kaido fight was also mentioned as a disappointment. This caused the critic to accuse Oda of selling out.”

“The problem people have with Himawari is not the fact that she has Kurama, but rather that he died and then returned,”a third person pointed out as the reason for the hate towards Himawari’s new power.

Some have also explained the reasoning behind these two events. As one person noted, “Both of these occurrences are logical. Bonney’s ability allows her to transform into future versions of herself, including a version with Nika’s powers. And Himawari having Kurama is consistent with the fact that Bijuus always return.”

The fate of Bonney and Himawari will eventually be unveiled in their respective manga. Be sure to mark your calendars for the release of One Piece Chapter 1118 on June 23 and Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11 on June 20.
