Since its premiere on Fuji TV in October 1999, the animated adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga, One Piece, has captivated millions of viewers worldwide. Toei Animation has remained dedicated to faithfully portraying the thrilling escapades of Monkey D. Luffy and his loyal crew.
The current arc in the anime is the Egghead Arc, where Luffy and his crew become entangled in a conflict instigated by the World Government’s plot to assassinate Dr. Vegapunk. According to the upcoming schedule for the anime, viewers can expect to see some of the most exciting moments of this arc in the next episodes.
Upcoming Schedule for the One Piece Anime
Recently, @pewpiece, a trustworthy source, shared the titles of the next three episodes of the One Piece anime on his personal account on X.
- Episode 1117: “Sabo’s Return! The Revelation of a Shocking Truth!”
- Episode 1118: “Turmoil at the Holy Land! A Powerful Strike from Sai & Leo!”
- Episode 1119: “The Entrusted Message! King Cobra’s Resolve”
Although the exact air dates for two of these episodes are still uncertain, it can be assumed that they will be aired sometime in September 2024. The titles also suggest that Toei Animation will continue to adapt the original content of the manga for the foreseeable future.
These episodes will center on Sabo’s recollection of the recent Reverie, as indicated by their titles. Viewers will gain insight into the events of the chaotic council, including the Revolutionary Army’s involvement and the reasons behind Nefertari Cobra’s passing.
The pace appears to have accelerated compared to the usual slow adaptation, as at least one of the upcoming installments will follow a 1:1 ratio of manga chapters to anime episodes.
We won’t delve into further specifics since the episode titles already give a good indication of what to expect. Episode 1117 is expected to cover the entire content of chapter 1083, while episode 1118 will likely only cover a portion of chapter 1084. The remaining content of chapter 1084 will most likely be adapted in episode 1119.
Currently, the only confirmed release date is for episode 1117, which is scheduled to air on Sunday, September 1. However, the release dates for episodes 1118 and 1119 are uncertain due to frequent unexpected breaks in the anime. If there are no further breaks, episode 1118 will air on Sunday, September 8, and episode 1119 will air on Sunday, September 15.
According to @pewpiece, a new theme song performed by the Japanese boy band BE:FIRST will replace the current ending theme, Maki Otsuki’s “Dear Sunrise” , in September 2024 for the One Piece anime. However, there is no additional information available at the time this article was written.
