One Piece Chapter 1119 Confirms Mid-July Release Schedule

One Piece Chapter 1119 Confirms Mid-July Release Schedule

On Monday, June 24, 2024, the well-known leaker of popular series and former Twitter user @pewpiece (Pew) shared the initial set of leaked information on One Piece chapter 1119 on their profile. According to these leaks, the series will take a break after the official release of chapter 1119, making it the first break for the series since early June 2024.

Fortunately, according to Pew’s statement, it seems that the post-1119 break week will not exceed a single week. Similar posts from Pew usually mention specific extended hiatuses for the series. It is probable, however, that a longer break will occur after the release of One Piece chapter 1119 due to the upcoming Obon holiday in Japan.

One Piece chapter 1119’s potential hiatus

As previously stated, the Obon holiday will be approaching in the weeks after the release of One Piece chapter 1119 and the accompanying break period. Although it has not been officially announced, it is highly probable that the series will take a longer break for the holiday. This is supported by the recent release schedule of the series and the confirmation of a break week after chapter 1119.

This hiatus will result in the series’ official return on July 15, followed by the continuation of its regular 3-on-1-off release schedule with issues coming out on July 22 and 29. This will be followed by a break week for the Weekly Shonen Jump issue on August 5. Due to Obon beginning on August 13 and the next issue being released on August 12, it is likely that Oda will not publish a chapter on August 12 and possibly even August 19 as well.

This timing also aligns with the current point in the Egghead arc, as the period surrounding Obon is likely right before or after the arc’s finale. In other words, Oda may use this extended break to prepare for either the conclusion of the Egghead arc or the beginning of the Elbaf arc, taking advantage of the fortuitous timing.

As of this writing, there is no confirmed information about any breaks for the series, with the exception of a scheduled break after the release of One Piece chapter 1119. Fans can expect to receive updates on Oda’s schedule closer to the Obon holiday in late July.

Eiichiro Oda, author and illustrator of One Piece manga, first published the series in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 1997. The manga is currently ongoing and continues to be regularly released in the magazine, with its Final Saga currently in progress. As of August 2022, One Piece remains the top-selling manga globally, with over 516 million copies in circulation.
