One Piece chapter 1120: Atlas sacrifices herself for the Straw Hats as a new D. is revealed

Fans of One Piece were pleasantly surprised by chapter 1120, which delivered more than they had anticipated. The latest installment of the manga series, officially released earlier this weekend, was filled with thrilling and unexpected events. From significant sacrifices to exciting confirmations and more, this chapter proved to be an unpredictable and exciting addition to the series.

One Piece chapter 1120 effectively conveys that the action in the Egghead arc will not cease until the Straw Hats have completely escaped the island’s surrounding waters. This is made evident by the actions of the Gorosei, who are determined to prevent Jewelry Bonney, Bartholomew Kuma, and Vegapunk Lilith from leaving the island alive.

The latest installment of One Piece, chapter 1120, kicked off with the continuation of Yamato’s journey in Wano, as shown in the cover story. In the cover, Yamato appeared to be pleading with Denjiro, who had apprehended a group of children throwing rocks at him and put them in a net as punishment. Moving on to the main story, the chapter then takes us back 26 years ago to the events that took place at Punk Hazard.

Despite Professor Clover’s desperate pleas, Dr. Vegapunk remains steadfast in his decision to refuse assistance in their Void Century research. As a scientist for the World Government, he sees no reason to jeopardize his position. He also reminds Clover that his freedom is only temporary, as he and his allies are being used for their knowledge. In a moment of vulnerability, Clover reveals his true identity as Claíomh D. Clover and recounts the tragic death of his brother, who shared the D. in his name. To survive, Clover had to lie and claim they were merely friends.

In One Piece chapter 1120, Clover expresses his struggle in accepting a world where one’s name can lead to their death. Despite Dr. Vegapunk’s attempt to dismiss Clover’s words, he acknowledges the Voices of the Past that call out to him. Clover believes that once he unravels the mystery of the Void Century, Dr. Vegapunk will have to confront the truth.

Four years later, the scene shifts to Caesar Clown laughing about the Oharan genocide and Clover’s fate. We then see Dr. Vegapunk looking at a wanted poster of Nico Robin before making his way to Ohara with flowers for his fallen friend. He reflects on how Clover had missed the chance to escape and wonders if their research was truly worth passing on. He also ponders who would continue their work after such a devastating event.

In chapter 1120 of One Piece, the story shifts back to the present where Dr. Vegapunk is quoting Clover while working on his own project. Among those present is Nico Robin, who is visibly emotional while listening. The focus then turns to the Labo-Phase, where Zoro suggests launching, but Lilith warns that they must be careful as even a small attack from Gorosei member Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro could prevent them from safely reaching their destination in the ocean.

At that moment, Vegapunk Atlas appears and strikes Lilith, incapacitating her and deactivating a device on her. After instructing the others to depart, Atlas entrusts Lilith to their care. Vegapunk York can be seen rejoicing, mistakenly believing that Lilith has met her demise. Atlas then sets off towards Nusjuro, with Jinbe and Zoro assuming command and urging the crew to seize this opportunity and set sail.

One Piece episode 1120: Sacrifice

In One Piece chapter 1120, the Thousand Sunny launches with the Coup de Burst just as Atlas reaches Nusjuro. It scoops him up and flies high into the sky, carrying him away from the Sunny. The focus then turns to Egghead’s northern shores where Dr. Vegapunk’s message continues to play, though it does not reveal anything significant. The Marines are shown questioning the Gorosei’s appearance and the overall situation, while Luffy has a conversation with Emeth.

Emeth refers to Luffy as Joy Boy, but Luffy does not identify himself by this name. Emeth states that he has returned, and that the enemies of Joy Boy are also his enemies. He expresses his willingness to fight for Joy Boy once again, vowing to protect him from harm as they make their way towards the Gorosei. The Giant Warrior Pirates inquire if Emeth is an ally, causing Luffy to recap their exchange. However, they claim to have heard nothing, indicating that Emeth was communicating through the power of the Voice of All Things.

In One Piece chapter 1120, Emeth adopts an attack stance as Gorosei member Saint Shepherd Ju Peter charges towards him. However, due to the effects of wear and tear, Ju Peter’s attack is unsuccessful. As a result, Emeth suffers a severe injury, losing his left arm and a portion of his left torso. Taking advantage of the chaos, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn leaps off of Ju Peter and lands on the bow of the Giant Warrior Pirates’ ship. He then declares to Bonney and Kuma that he will not allow them to escape.

After noticing the Sunny above, Sanji’s focus shifts to the ship where Zoro is urgently instructing the crew to hold on. Nusjuro questions Atlas about her intentions of sacrificing herself, but she calmly explains that she is only assisting as a massive explosion erupts. This leads to the final part of the chapter, where Dr. Vegapunk discusses the accomplishments of Gol D. Roger’s crew, and in doing so, reveals his true name to the world (i.e. Gol D. Roger rather than the previously established Gold Roger).

During this event, multiple viewpoints are presented in the unfolding of the issue. In One Piece chapter 1120, Chopper and Usopp mourn the loss of Atlas’ sacrifice, while York rejoices in being the sole remaining Vegapunk (at least in her knowledge). Nusjuro is depicted with half of his head destroyed due to Atlas’ strike, and he and the other Gorosei discuss the challenge of addressing Dr. Vegapunk’s broadcast in response to York’s actions.

As Emeth contemplates his deteriorating state, he realizes that this must be the moment that Joy Boy had foretold to him. He questions if he can utilize “it,”just as Saint Ju Peter and Saint Topman Warcury, a member of the Gorosei, charge towards him. The final panel of the issue shows Impel Down prisoners reacting to the revelation of Gol D. Roger’s real identity.

In summation

Despite the conclusion of Dr. Vegapunk’s speech, the show effectively replaces the level of excitement it once generated with unexpected developments in One Piece chapter 1120. The sacrifice of Atlas is a prime example of this, and the introduction of another member of the D. Clan, Professor Clover, adds to the overall intrigue.

The impending climax of the Egghead Island arc is evident in the issue, as Emeth’s intentions to employ a final and potentially devastating attack on the Gorosei become clear. As the arc appears to be reaching its conclusion in a few remaining chapters, fans can anticipate non-stop action until the Straw Hats successfully flee from Egghead’s territory.
