Significant events are unfolding in the Pirate Seas as One Piece enters its final saga. With the latest Chapter 1125, we hoped for clarity regarding Vegapunk Satellites, but instead, we were met with several shocking developments.
This chapter reveals the death of Stussy, the theft of Punk records, and finally, the assassination of Saint Saturn by Imu. One of the most surprising revelations is that the World Government was attempting to create weapons of mass destruction like Emet, the Iron Giant.
1. How did the World Government try to use the Iron Giant?
Under the direction of Saint Saturn, the World Government’s researchers studied the Iron Giant in a bid to enhance their military capabilities. This initiative took place 200 years ago. Although Emet was intended for scrapping, the process was halted.
Chapter 1125 unveiled numerous truths, including Saint Saturn’s involvement in a significant cover-up. Originally meant for decommissioning over two centuries ago, the Iron Giant was allowed for study by researchers.
This decision aimed to replicate the Iron Giant, potentially mass-producing similar weapons of mass destruction for the World Government. This proved to be a poor choice, as the Iron Giant (Emet) reactivated after two centuries to protect Straw Hat Luffy.
Saint Saturn reflects on these events with regret, puzzled by how the Iron Giant, dormant for over two centuries, powered up to defend Luffy.
Had it not been for the timely intervention of Emet, the Straw Hat Pirates could have faced a dire situation against the formidable Grand Buster Call Fleet, led by nine Vice-Admirals.
It’s fortunate that the World Government did not manage to replicate Emet, the Iron Giant. Had they succeeded, they might have gained overwhelming control over the seas.
As of now, no evidence suggests that their 200 years of research has yielded results, but with Oda’s track record, it’s not out of the question that mass-produced copies of the Iron Giant could emerge unexpectedly.
2. What is the Iron Giant in One Piece?
The Iron Giant is a robot reportedly created 900 years ago during the Void Century and served as the inspiration for Vegapunk’s Vegaforce-01 robot.
The full scope of its powers remains unclear, as it ran out of energy before wreaking havoc. However, it demonstrated capabilities such as climbing the Red Line, far exceeding the scientific understanding of that era.
First appearing 200 years ago, the robot attacked Mary Geoise before becoming inactive due to a power shortage. It reactivated when Luffy transformed into his Gear 5 form.
3. About One Piece
One Piece is a renowned Japanese manga series created by Eiichiro Oda, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 22, 1997.
The legendary Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, famously declared, “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” This proclamation ignited a global quest among pirates, leading them toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece.
Young Monkey D. Luffy, aspiring to become the greatest pirate, embarks on his journey toward the Grand Line accompanied by a diverse crew, including a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg shipwright, promising a memorable adventure ahead.
